Madelyn (Maddie) Josephine Joy Hamilton was born June 9, 2012, to April Hamilton in Wichita, Kansas. This precious gift of God was welcomed into the home of John and Nancy Hamilton of Pella in November 2012. Maddie passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Maddie was a fighter and never gave up through her health challenges. She loved watching her brothers sing, dance, and entertain, her Dad singing "You Are My Sunshine," watching Pella Dutch soccer, and dressing up with Mom. She will be remembered as a smiling, happy baby who adored her big brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her parents, John and Nancy Hamilton of Pella; her brothers, Christian, Bailey, Connor, and Chase; her parental grandfather, Gary Hamilton, of El Paso, Texas; paternal grandmother, Mary Eime of Olathe, Kansas; paternal aunts and uncles: Keith and Sharon Hamilton, Adam Hamilton, Michele Florane; maternal aunts and uncles: Pat and Gorden Henry, Jan Maness, Bob and Judy Blowers, Glenda Blowers; many cousins; and her godparents, John and Brenda Smith.

Maddie was preceded in death by: her maternal grandparents, Virgil and Marjorie Blowers; her paternal grandmother, Joan Hamilton; and her twin brother, Kyle Hamilton, on July 9, 2012.

A special thanks to David, Karla, and Jeffrey Ball, Maddie's "first" family in Wichita, for all their love, support, and prayers for Maddie. Also thanks to the PICU and Pediatric Cardiology Department at Mercy Hospital for their loving care and support. A big thank you to all the people who impacted Maddie's life and who prayed and supported our family during this difficult time.
