Obituary

Magdeline (Maggie) Rozenberg Van Weelden was born December 8, 1932, to Andrew and Elizabeth Sneller Rozenberg at the home of her parents west of Leighton. She died at her home on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the age of seventy-seven.

As a young girl one of her first jobs was wrapping butter at the Pella Creamery. Maggie was employed at Pella Corporation from February 7, 1973 until retiring December 1988. She received her education at Pella High School.

Maggie was a loving mother of six and sacrificed much for her children, raising them by herself. She enjoyed collecting antiques which she showed and won many blue ribbons at the Iowa State Fair, taking Beanie Babies to the Trinity Trick or Treat night, watching QVC on TV, and watching eagle video web cams. Maggie enjoyed many years of happiness with her companion, Clarence Van Eden. Clarence passed away February 11, 2007. Facebook is how she kept in touch with family and friends. Maggie never knew a stranger. She believed in faith, hope and love and made the best of everyday.

Those left to cherish her memory are her six children; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Katherina Dunsmoor; and brother and his wife, Wilbur and Bonnie Rozenberg.

Preceding her in death are her parent; her brother-in-law, Melvin Dunsmoor; and loving companion, Clarence Van Eden.

Heaven will be a spacious place and all sorts of treasures will be available to us there. But the entryway is too small for a moving van; we can't take anything with us to paradise except the love we carry inside our hearts.
