Marcella Ruth Bruinekool age 82, formerly of Oskaloosa, passed away peacefully with her family present at Bloomfield Care Center on November 29, 2024. She was born November 6, 1942, in Pella, Iowa, to Delman and Lucille (Kuiper) Van Zante. Marcie was a graduate of Lynnville-Sully High School.

Marcie married Dwayne Bruinekool on December 27, 1960. They resided in Oskaloosa for most of their married life. They enjoyed 52 years together until Dwayne's passing on May 13, 2013.

Marcie and Dwayne lived an adventurous life, taking many long trips on their Harley Davidson covering many miles, riding from coast to coast. They belong to the over the hill gang and were lifetime HOG members.

Marcie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pella, Iowa.

Marcie is survived by her daughter Brenda Shepard of Ottumwa, Iowa, son Todd (Francine) Bruinekool of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren: Bryan (Tiffany) Parcel, Stephan Rhodus, Melissa Boessen, John Boessen, and Susie Berendzen, along with five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dwayne, parents, sister Marilyn Swanson, and a special friend Chet Mathes.
