Obituary

Margaret June Mulder was born June 1, 1931 to Martin and Maggie (Stam) Tibboel, in Menlo, Iowa. She passed away at The Village in Indianola, on January 22, 2021.

Margaret grew up in the Prairie City area and attended  Warren Grove country school. She went to Rehoboth, New Mexico, where she served on the Navajo reservation. From there, she moved to Denver, and then to the  Chicago area and worked with the mentally challenged. She met Stan Mulder at a family gathering in Pella. They were united in marriage on December 11, 1956.  To this union they were blessed with three sons Alan, Randy and Carl. Margaret worked for a nursing home in Des Moines, then together with Stan, they had many, many custodial jobs all over town. Margaret enjoyed sewing, gardening, and canning.

Margaret was a long-time member of Otley Reformed Church.  She cared for others and lived out her faith through volunteering for many groups, including the prison ministry. She enjoyed visiting and making friends wherever she went, including the staff at the nursing facility. She and Stan also enjoyed traveling together, and spending time with their family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Maggie Tibboel, her sisters: Cornelia (Tunis) Verschuure, Nellie (Jerry) Rashell, and Ann (Andrew) Van Zee; her brothers:  Clarence in infancy, Frank (Erma) Tibboel, Gerrit (Martha) Tibboel, Harry (Cornelia) Tibboel, John Tibboel, Ted Tibboel, and Herman (Ruth) Tibboel.
