Marlys Ruth Anderson was born on August 1, 1950, to Emil John and Joan Stewart Anderson in Eldora, Iowa. She passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014, at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House in Pella, Iowa, at the age of sixty-three.

She graduated from Grinnell High School and later graduated from Marshalltown School of Nursing receiving her RN degree. She was employed at the Pella Regional Health Center, retiring retiring after thirty years of service.

Marlys was committed to her best friend, Ron Humeston of Pella. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, the Knoxville Garden Club, Master Gardeners, and ROHS.

Those left to cherish are: her mother, Joan Anderson of Grinnell; her significant other, Ronald Humeston of Pella; two daughters and their husbands: Robin and Carl Vos of Pella, and Ruth Ann and Randy Van Vark of Pella; grandchildren: Reece Miller, Marlee Morton, Ryan, Nichole, and Zachary Vos; great-grandson, Eli Vos; sister, Nattalie Wissink; and brothers: Scott, Tim, and John Martin Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her father and her first husband, Kevin Criswell.
