Mavis Vos was born September 13, 1939, to Gerrit J. and Grace (Wanders) Vande Kieft, in Tracy, Iowa.
Mavis attended Richland Country School west of Otley, and was a 1958 graduate of Pella Christian High School.
On August 31, 1960, she was united in marriage to Ivan Vos at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella.
Over the years, Mavis was a homemaker and worked for Central College, Pella Regional Health Center and Fair Haven before retiring. In addition, she enjoyed selling Avon products. She was very servant-hearted, always cooking, cleaning and caring for others on the side. Mavis was known for her gentle, sweet spirit and quiet smile.

She is also survived by her brother Robert and Anne Vande Kieft of Michigan and 16 nieces and nephews.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Vos, parents Gerrit and Grace Vande Kieft, parents-in-law Cornie and Henrietta Vos, brother Bud and Mary Lou Vande Kieft, and Ivan’s siblings: Wilbur (Cornelia) Vos, Melvin (Lorraine) Vos, Erma Vos and Elva Vos.
