Maxwell Joseph Matice was born on April 27, 1917, to Walter Earl and Grace Elizabeth Parsons Matice in Hamilton, Illinois. Max passed away at the Pella Regional Health Center - Long Term Care on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the age of ninety-five.

At a young age Max and his family lived in New York after which he returned to Hamilton, Illinois.

Max was united in marriage with Hazel Dunsworth. They enjoyed wintering in Texas. They moved to Pella in 1995 to be closer to family. Hazel passed away in 1997.

Max served his country in the Navy in World War II. He also owned and operated a plumbing and heating business in Hamilton, Illinois.

Those who cherish his memory are: his daughter-in-law, Karen Matice of Pella; two grandchildren: Sheri Matice of Otley and Troy (Jami) Matice of Pella and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Lane Matice.

Preceding him in death: his wife Hazel and his son, Gary Matice, in 2009.

Graveside services for Maxwell Matice will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois.
