Oren James Phillips was born September 28, 1962, to James "Jimmy" Junior and Marjorie Hester (Van Halm) Phillips, in Sigourney, Iowa.  He passed away on February 8, 2024, at the Pella Regional Health Center.

On October 24, 1982, he was united in marriage to Lori Brower, in South English, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with two daughters: Katie and Sara.

Oren enjoyed reading, listening to music, cooking, baking, and watching classic movies. Most of all, Oren enjoyed being a Papa to his two grandchildren.
