Paul Raymond Blom was born at his family farm near Leighton, Iowa, to Leonard and Kathryn (Colyn) Blom on June 17, 1934. Paul grew up in the Leighton area and graduated from Pella Community High School. Paul met Marjorie Gatton through his sister, and they married at the Oskaloosa Methodist Church on September 4, 1959. To this union they welcomed two children: daughter, Brenda Lou and son, Bradley. Paul and Marjorie attended several churches in the Leighton and Pella area and have been members of Third Reformed Church in Pella for the last 15 years. Throughout Paul's life he farmed, worked at a car dealership in Cheyenne, Wyoming, worked at various jobs in the Oskaloosa area, and for Steenhoek Auto Supply in Pella. Paul was very talented at many things and enjoyed life to its fullest. He enjoyed cruising around everywhere in his truck, and spending time at his shop near Otley. He and Marjorie spent many winters in Texas and he loved to have coffee time with friends. He was a loyal fan of both the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Chicago Cubs, but also watched all sports. Most of all, Paul dearly loved spending time with his family and helping them. Those left to cherish Paul's memory are: his wife Marjorie, their son, Bradley Blom (Kelly Kamerick) of Pella; and their grandson, Cassidy Blom. He is also survived by his sisters, Pat Blom of Knoxville, and Elsie (Ray) Kooser of Arvada, Colorado, and many extended family members. Preceding him in death were his parents, parents-in-law Kelly and Beulah Gatton, daughter Brenda at 47 days, siblings: Lenora Tandy, Dorothy Kisor, Fred "Bud" Blom; and brother-in-law Gary Gatton.
