IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis
Butler
August 15, 2016
Phyllis Elaine Butler, the oldest of five children, was born June 8, 1936, to Forrest and Viola (De Winter) Butler, in their home in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on August 15, 2016.
Phyllis grew up in the Pella area, and was a 1954 graduate of Pella Community High School. Phyllis married Norman Waddle on December 18, 1954. To this union they were blessed with three children: Sheryl, Steven, and Stuart. Phyllis was a housewife, milked cows and helped out on the farm where they lived. She retired from Pella Corp. and later worked as a cook at the Pella Early Learning Center. She was talented at many things; sewing, gardening, canning, and baking pies. Phyllis also made the best home-made scalloped chicken! In her spare time, she loved to watch NASCAR and her beloved Green Bay Packers. She was a great friend to many people and was easy to talk to. She especially loved to take care of her family and spend time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Sheryl and Bill Jennings of Prairie City, Steven Waddle of Pella, Stuart Waddle and Mary Tratchel of Galesburg; two granddaughters: Lindsey and Zach Schippers, and Molly Jennings and Dane Jenkins; her siblings: Lou Ann and Art Schuring of Pella, Dean and Karen Butler of Pella, Bonnie and Bill McKibben of St. Charles, and Cindy and Alan Roorda of Pella.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.
