IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
Gosselink
July 8, 1929 – December 24, 2022
Robert John Gosselink, the youngest of three children, was born July 8, 1929, to John Henry and Kathryn (Keuning) Gosselink. He grew up by Otley, in a time when there was no indoor plumbing or electricity. Bob attended Liberty Corner Country School and Pella Christian School through eighth grade. He loved nothing more than to follow his dad "Pappy" around the farm, and helped him with the cattle and corn farming.
On September 1, 1950, Bob was united in marriage with Lorena Roorda in Prairie City. To this union they were blessed with five daughters: Diana, Kathy, Linda, Carol and Julie. They made their home on a farm northwest of Pella and moved to Pella in 1954. Bob worked for Gosselink Builders, his cousin Harold Keuning doing heating and cooling, he built several homes in Pella, and worked in the carpenter shop for the Rolscreen for 15 years.
On December 18, 1976, he was united in marriage with Ruthann Van Gorp at the Scholte Church in Pella. Bob and Ruthann later moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he did custom furniture making for 17 years. They enjoyed their years together in Arizona and in 1996 returned to Pella.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Diane (Bruce) Baier of Pella, Kathy (Steve) De Zwarte of Pella, Linda (Steve) Cook of Tempe, Arizona, Carol Gosselink of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Julie Gosselink of Pella, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and niece June Vande Noord, who helped care for him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruthann, his siblings: Helene (Bud) Ver Meer and Howard (Josie) Gosselink, and two great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Calvary Christian Reformed Church.
