Obituary

Roger Clarence Pfadenhauer was born August 3, 1933, to Clarence and Wilma (Wallentine) Pfadenhauer.

Roger attended Burlington Elementary, was a 1951 graduate of Burlington High School, and a 1954 graduate of Open Bible College. It was there that he met Joann Kelderman, who was a sister of his roommate.  Roger and Joann were united in marriage on June 3, 1955, in Pella.  To this union, they were blessed with four children:  Sandra Kay, Douglas Ray, Bruce Arlan, and Daniel Dale.

Roger built houses with his dad for a time around Burlington, Iowa. After marriage, he started farming in New London, and then moved to a farm near Leighton in 1959.  Roger and Joann bought Frank Tromp Glass & Paint in 1968, built a new building and named it Pella Glass & Home Improvement. They sold the business in 1995.  Following retirement, Roger drove semi hauling grain and quit driving December 2010.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife Joann, his parents Clarence and Wilma Pfadenhauer, parents-in-law William and Minnie Kelderman, sisters: Irene (Bob) Bush, Sharon Welker; brothers-in-law: Wayne (Maxine) Kelderman, Melvin Kelderman; and LeRoy (Lois) Kelderman.
