Roger Vern Witzenburg was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Gerrit and Ethel (Sjolin) Witzenburg on August 22, 1943. He lived in the Pella area and attended Pella Community High School. Roger was married to Brenda Sneller on February 14, 1998, in Knoxville, Iowa. Together they had six children: Mike, Dustin, Michelle, Amanda, Allison and Alicia. Over the years, Roger was employed by Precision Pulley, Medalist Manufacturing, and Armstrong Tire. Roger was a talented mechanic who enjoyed cars, motorcycles, bike nights, golf and watching sports. There were many memorable vacations, taking the backroads and enjoying the scenery. He was also a humble man of many hats; he was a loyal friend to many, a caretaker, a trusted family advisor, and found great joy in helping others. Most of all Roger loved spending time with his grandchildren. Roger will be dearly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Loren and Alma Witzenburg of Pella, Allen and Doris Witzenburg of Newton, Delwyn and Rosemary Witzenburg of Knoxville; sister JoAnn and Tony Nunnikhoven of Waukee; brother-in-law, Allen and Doreen Sneller of Indianola; sister-in-law, Mary and Calvin Van Haaften of Pella; and special family friends, Eric, Alyce and Marshall Seibert. Preceding him in death were his parents; parents in-law, Arthur and Marjorie Sneller; brother, Gerald, in infancy; nephew Doyle; and many aunts and uncles.
