Ronald Eugene Evans was born on January 24, 1933, to Cecil and Inez (Bowman) Evans in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Ron met his wife, Doris, in Maquoketa, Iowa and were married in 1956. They were blessed with two children: Douglas and Cheryl.

Ron was a devoted police officer and spent many years as the Maquoketa Chief of Police before his retirement. Family time was a big part of Ron's life. He found great joy in woodworking and teaching his grandkids. He spent much time researching family history and ancestry. In his free time, Ron enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching Westerns.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; their family; and his sisters Carole Schossow and Sandy Collister.

Ron is preceded in death by his son, Douglas Evans, in 2013; and his siblings: Verda Young, Portia Ales, Nedra Reynolds, Lois Morgan, Alan Evans, and Bob Evans.
