We lost a Wife, Mom, Aunt and Friend. Ruth would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, especially if a baby was involved. A fun loving, compassionate soul with a strong faith in God. She was my extrovert to my introvert.

Ruth Elaine Roorda was born on May 20, 1953, in Oskaloosa, Iowa; a daughter of Gilford and Jane (Klein) Winegar. Ruth, age 71, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Lake Ozark, Missouri.

Ruth grew up in Pella, Iowa, and graduated from Pella Community High School with the class of 1971. She graduated from Patricia Stevens Fashion and Business College in Omaha, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Doug Roorda on August 25, 1973. They shared 51 years together at the time of her passing.

Ruth supported her family in a number of occupations; Secretary/Personal Assistant, Operations for Continental Airlines, Daycare and Realtor. Ruth touched many lives through Daycare and kept in touch with many of the children.

Ruth was preceded by her parents Gilford and Jane Winegar; her sisters Marilyn Winegar and Beverly Rozenboom, her brother Melvin Winegar, and her nephew Dannie Rozenboom.

Ruth is survived by her husband Doug Roorda of Lake Ozark, Missouri; children Adam Roorda of Los Angelas, California and Ashley Roorda of Denver, Colorado; her grand-dogs Charlie and Chessner. Nephews: Ron (Audri) Rozenboom, Curtis (Jami) Winegar, Craig (Penni) Winegar, Niece: Carrie (Scott) McIntyre, and other relatives and friends.
