IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra
Allgood
December 16, 1939 – May 31, 2025
Sandra Kay (Houser) Allgood was born December 16, 1939, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Cecil and Pauline Houser. Sandra grew up on the family farm near Tracy. She loved everything about the farm and stayed a farm girl at heart, always having good memories to share. She had one older brother, Robert "Bob" Houser. She attended school in Tracy, graduating in 1958. While in high school, she played basketball and softball.
In May of 1959, she married Ronald Allgood, they later divorced but remained friends. Sandra had no children but loved all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
After high school, Sandra began her career with Bell Telephone Company where she worked for many years. After she retired from the telephone company, she went to work for Mediacom working in Ottumwa and Oskaloosa offices until she retired once again. In retirement, she delivered prescriptions for Hy-Vee pharmacy.
Back when she was able, she loved traveling to all sorts of locations with her family or friends. She loved gathering up her travel companions and taking off to the places they loved. Of course, there were many good stories to tell when they returned home.
Sandra was a very kind and generous person. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. She loved planning parties and activities. While living in Fairhaven West, most evenings you could find her playing cards with her friends, she loved a good card game.
In the spring of 2024, after having some major health issues Sandra moved to The Cottages in Pella where she was lovingly cared for by the staff of North Holland. Sandra passed away May 31, 2025, with family by her side.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Pauline Houser, her brother Robert Houser and her sister-in-law Norma Houser.
Those left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews: Denise and Jim Johnson, Dan and Karyn Houser, Duane and Barb Houser, and many great nieces and nephews.
