Obituary

Sarah M. Davis was born August 18, 1937, to Harvey and Ethel (Taylor) Davis in Pella at her parents' home, which was a railroad car. She was a foster child who grew up in the Pella and Ottumwa areas. At age ten, she went to live with Henry and Tena Van Rees and was later adopted by them. Sarah was a 1957 graduate of Pella High School.

Sarah met Kenneth Heschke at the Rexall Drug Store in Pella.  They were married on June 28, 1959, at the Open Bible Church in Pella.  To this union they were blessed with three children:  Pat, Jim and Doug.

Sarah had an in-home daycare, worked for the Pella Hospital and then she worked for Hy-Vee for 25 years. She loved her job and talking to people.  She was very welcoming and made everyone feel included. Sarah's family meant the world to her and she loved spending time with them. Many years ago, Sarah got her motorcycle license and she still had it!

Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their families, and three future great-grandchildren:
