Shannon Diane Sanders was born September 22, 1976, to Ron and Nancy (Carter) Rockhold in Burlington, Iowa.  She passed away on June 21, 2024.

Shannon  graduated from  Central Lee High School in 1995. She went on to Bethel University where she graduated with a degree in business and accounting. Shannon was gifted when it came to working with numbers but her passion was her faith in God and investing in all the people around her.

On May 20, 2000, she was united in marriage to Robert "Rob" Sanders. To this union they were blessed with three children: Ashlynn, Christian, and Gabrielle. Shannon was an amazing wife, mother, and friend. She lived her life always loving and providing for her family. She also invested her life by opening her home to countless teens through the years. As the wife of a youth pastor, she made it her life's work to make sure every student that came into her home knew that they were loved and cared for and they never went away hungry.

The past few years Shannon also worked at Hy-Vee in Pella. She loved her coworkers and all of the customers she would help on a weekly basis.

Shannon battled cancer for many years but chose to not allow it to define her or make her live in fear. From the very beginning she kept her eyes focused on Jesus and trusted in Him as she navigated uncertain waters. She decided to live her life choosing to have Faith Over Fear. As she experienced a life of peace in the midst of a storm she made it her mission to encourage others to live a life for Faith Over Fear by handing out thousands of "Faith Over Fear" bracelets and sharing words of encouragement followed by prayer to anyone she found to be in need. Shannon embodied what it means to Love God and Love Others.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Rob and their children: Ashlynn (Quinten) Miller of Havelock, North Carolina, Christian Sanders of Pella and Gabrielle Sanders of Pella. She is also survived by her parents Ron and Nancy Rockhold, parents-in-law Dale and Cindy Sanders, and her brothers: Shad (Arlean) Rockhold of Warsaw, Illinois, and Shelby (Sarah) Rockhold of Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

Shannon was preceded in death by her grandparents: Martha (Carter) Puder, Glenn Carter, Louise Rockhold, and William Rockhold.
