Sheri Rae Carter was born September 2, 1971, to William and Nancy (Harrison) Carter. She passed away on December 20, 2016, in Pella, Iowa.

Sheri lived and worked at Christian Opportunity Center since July 1994. Some of things that brought joy to her life were listening to soft, soothing music like Peter, Paul and Mary, watching Iowa Public Television, and she loved looking at the lights on the Christmas trees during the Christmas season.

Sheri was a "spunky little spit fire" who loved life. She had a great laugh that could be heard a mile away. She liked going outside, going to the lake, and went to Easter Seals camp several times.

Sheri is survived by her siblings: Evey Carter of North Carolina, Wes Carter of Knoxville, Tom Carter and Carla Koons of New Sharon, Bill Carter of Knoxville, and Deanna McKinstry of Newton; many nieces and nephews; her special friend Becky Wolver, and her COC family.

Sheri was preceded in death by her parents William and Nancy Carter; and a brother Bobby Carter.

Private services will be held on December 28, 2016.
