Terry Van
Zee
May 23, 1951 – January 6, 2025
Terry Duane Van Zee was born May 23, 1951, to John and Wilma (Wanders) Van Zee, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Terry attended Pella Christian Grade School and was a 1969 graduate of Pella Christian High School. He graduated from Central College in 1974 with a degree in Music Education.
On August 31, 1973, he was united in marriage to Ladonna Brand in Sully, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with three children: Kayla, Kelli and Tyler. Terry enjoyed playing slow-pitch softball, volleyball, fishing, and coaching volleyball and soccer teams. More recently he enjoyed playing games with the grandkids. He was an avid fan of Iowa Hawkeyes basketball and football and had a new love for the Kansas City Chiefs. Terry loved family vacations to Florida, Michigan, and a visit to Kelli in Niger, Africa and Tyler in Spain. Terry retired from Vermeer Manufacturing after working there for more than 40 years as a Systems Analyst. He always had an intense passion for music and singing especially with his daughter Kelli. Terry overcame a brain tumor in 2017 and lived a full life until a Parkinson's diagnosis in 2022.
Terry was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon and sung with the praise team. In his free time, he enjoyed volunteering at The Well and playing pitch.

He is also survived by his sister Joyce (Alvin) Vos of Endwell, New York, sisters-in-law Carolyn (Bill) Heethuis of Caledonia, Michigan, Connie (Tom) Vander Hart of Pella, Iowa, Bonita Kreber of Waukee, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Wilma Van Zee, parents-in-law Clarence and Vera Brand, brother Allen Van Zee, grandson Nicholas McCannon, and brothers-in-law Ron Kreber and Gary Brand.
