Thomas Edward "Tom" Johnson was born August 21, 1947, to Theodore Edward "Ted" and Betty Jane (Green) Johnson.

Born at home in Bussey, he graduated from Twin Cedars in 1965, calling his father the day after graduation to tell him he'd moved to Colorado. This adventurous spirit continued throughout his life. He met Connie Sue Aldridge in 1969 and married her eleven days later before going to Vietnam. He proudly served his country until his retirement in 2010. He was a wonderful father to his girls and granddaughters.

Tom always rooted for the Chiefs and loved a good tune or fast car. He was married for 55 years at the time of his passing. He touched a great many lives as a supervisor, mechanic, 1st sergeant, father, husband, grandfather and friend. He will always be remembered.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Connie, their daughters: Amanda (Christopher) Hoeksema of Ankeny, Iowa, Anessa Johnson of Bussey, Iowa, and Alysha Van Wyk of Pella, Iowa; grandchildren: Alayna, Dazy, Raven and Nori.

He is also survived by his siblings: Sonja Binns of Knoxville, Iowa, Chris Moody of Centerton, Arkansas, Rodney Kendall of California, Victoria Johnson of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Tammy Vandenberg of Knoxville, Iowa, and Ted Johnson of Des Moines.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Ted Johnson and Betty Johnson, stepmother Ilene Little, sister Gloria Six and brother Jerry Johnson.
