IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victoria De
Haan
December 19, 1959 – January 21, 2024
Victoria Ann "Nauny" De Haan was born December 19, 1959, to Robert and Carole Traft, at the Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Victoria was a 1978 graduate of the last graduating class of Fairchance - Georges High School in Pennsylvania. She went on to nursing school at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. She worked as a nurse in Nevada; in Dallas, Texas; and in Danville, Illinois; prior to later nursing roles at the Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington; and for The Cottages in Pella.
Her nursing expertise first was gained in emergency ER centers and for the majority of her career with keen interest in sleep apnea patient issues where she both directed Sleep Centers and served as a Sleep Tech.
She was married to Michael Allen, together they had Christopher and Andrea. She later married Steve Wright and they had one son, Devin. On August 27, 2009, she was united in marriage to Frederick "Derick" De Haan, adding a step-daughter Katelyn.
Victoria loved her Lord and Risen Savior, her grandsons, her DeHaan family, her transplanted home of Pella and watching Pella Christian Eagles ball games. She was a lifelong fan, cultivated by her father Robert, of both the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the school where Robert earned his engineering degree, Penn State University Nittany Lions. Where she identified most strongly was in preparing delicious family meals, often proclaiming, "the kitchen is where I delight to make magic." Her favorite dishes were spaghetti and meatballs, a Croatian dish with cabbage and meats, and her regionally famous egg nog at the holidays.
Those left who will cherish her memory are her husband Derick, and her family:
Christopher (Anna) Allen of Pella, Iowa
Keane, Finley, Aston
Andrea (Keith) Miller of Ft. Collins, Colorado
Katelyn, Abel
Devin Wright
Katelyn Elise De Haan
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Carole Traft.
