Obituary

Virginia Mae Rykhoek was born May 5, 1930, to Isaac Daniel and Mary Estella (Munden) Pinkerton, in Kirksville, Missouri.

Virginia graduated from Prairie City High School, in Iowa, and married William Raymond De Moss Jr. immediately following graduation in 1948. They were blessed with two daughters Diana Linn De Moss (Terpstra) and Donna Lea De Moss. Later she married John Washington Bowling to which son Isaac John Bowling was born. She also married Donald Sweitzer and Merlin Rykhoek.

Virginia attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, for nursing, a career that lasted 30 years. She worked for various hospitals, nursing homes, and in private duty. She loved the Lord and served by going on various medical mission trips. Her greatest love was her three children, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and other friends and family. She loved gardening, flowers, fishing, traveling, and her dogs, having a kennel for several years.

Virginia is also survived by her sister Eileen Miller.

Preceding her in death were her parents Isaac and Mary Pinkerton, an infant brother who was stillborn, sister Hazel Hudnutt, brother George Pinkerton, and two stillborn great grand daughters of Jessica Northrup.
