Zachary Wayne Vanden Berg was born on April 10, 1987, to Gregory and Tammy Johnson Vanden Berg in Pella, Iowa. He passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa, Iowa, at the age of twenty-five.
Zach received his early education in the Pella Schools and graduated from Pella Community High School with the class of 2005.
Zach worked many odd jobs but currently he had been working as an electrician with Action Electric in New Sharon, Iowa.
He enjoyed spending time with his son Amrik, and his nieces and nephews. Family and friends were very important to him and he loved all of them very much. He enjoyed playing frisbee golf, music, and his electrical work. He liked being outdoors in nature.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his son, Amrik; his father, Greg Vanden Berg of Pella; his mother, Tammy Vanden Berg of Knoxville; maternal grandmother, Bonnetta Constant of Knoxville; sisters: Shanna (Chad) Vande Lune and their children Nathan, Aaron, and Camille of Pella, Cricket Vanden Berg and her children, Cameron, Kyler, Alivia of Pella; brother, Spencer Vanden Berg of Knoxville; aunt, Mikki Van Dusseldorp of Pella and Vicki Johnson of Oskaloosa; and cousin, Mia (Roger) Ver Hoef and their son Brady of Pella.
Zach was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ted Johnson; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Jeanne Vanden Berg; uncle, Larry Van Dusseldorp; maternal great-grandmother, Gerta Lindly; and great-aunt, Doris Crook.
