Zella Mae Rogers was born September 8, 1950, to Mamie (Bunnell) and Howard Garr, in Unionville, Missouri. She passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 21, 2016, in Pella, Iowa.

Zella attended rural Putnam School. After her education, she married Ellis Jarvis in 1967. To that union five children were born: Ellis, Billy, Melvin, Francis and Timothy. Zella and Ellis later divorced, she then married William Rogers, and to that union they had three children: Jamian, Damian and Mae Ann.

Throughout her life, Zella enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and spending time with friends and family.

Zella is survived by her children: Ellis Jarvis of Elvaston, Illinois, Billy Jarvis of Unionville, Missouri, Melvin (Sue) Jarvis of Missouri, Francis Jarvis of Unionville, Missouri, Timothy Jarvis of Milan, Missouri, Jamian Rogers, Damian Rogers, Mae Ann (Aaron) Shelton of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren; and her siblings: Evertt (Joann) Garr of Centerville, Iowa, Hubert (Debbie) Garr of Unionville, Missouri, Wilbert Garr of Unionville, Missouri, Robert (Bev) Garr of Kirksville, Missouri, Mildred Hines of Unionville, Missouri, and Bonnie Handlin of Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Zella was preceded in death by her parents Mamie and Howard Garr, brother Albert Garr, and sister-in-law Opal Garr.
