Bruce De Bruin Obituary

Bruce David De Bruin was born May 9, 1953, to Albert and Jennie (Gosselink) De Bruin in Mahaska County, Iowa.

Bruce attended school in Pella and was a 1971 graduate of Pella Community High School.

On June 18, 1976, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Ver Ploeg at the First Reformed Church in Pella. To this union they were blessed with two daughters: Lisa and Kimberly.

Bruce made profession of faith at First Reformed Church on February 13, 1977; later he and Marilyn became members of Third Reformed Church.

Bruce farmed his entire life on a Century Farm near Leighton. Harvest was his favorite time of the year. He was a Farm Bureau member who enjoyed chatting with farmers and was always looking to help out wherever needed. He was a talented woodworker and welder and made beautiful wind sculptures. Bruce loved having his dog by his side. He cherished spending time with family and his grandkids and giving them rides on the Prowler.  Bruce and Marilyn enjoyed riding motorcycle with friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Marilyn and their family:

Lisa and Brian Kisling
