Carl Dean Russell

 Carl Dean Russell was born December 17, 1935, to Ralph and Hilda (Van Brogen) Russell, in Pella, Iowa. He attended Pella Community Schools.

On April 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Vander Horst. To this marriage they were blessed with three sons: Daniel Lloyd, Thomas Glen, and Larry Alan. Carl and Norma were married 44 years and lived in Oskaloosa for 28 of those years. They were members of the Assembly of God Church.

Throughout his career, Carl was an independent insurance agent. He was a faithful Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball fan. Carl possessed and taught his sons a strong work ethic.

On August 15, 2015, Carl was blessed to marry Judy Van Dusseldorp and lived in Oskaloosa.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife Judy Russell, his sons: Thomas (Jacque) Russell of Somers, Montana, and Larry (Lynn) Russell of Columbus, Ohio; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his sister Marilyn (Joe) Nash of Dubuque, Iowa.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean Russell, son Daniel Russell, parents Ralph and Hilda Russell, parents-in-law Henry and Dorothy Vander Horst, sisters: Freda Arlene Schwab, and Donna Jean McCartney; and his brothers: Keith Delaine Russell and Ralph Vernon Russell
