Carl Wayne Van Der Veer was born October 28, 1940, to Clarence and Mabel (Braak) Van Der Veer in Pella, Iowa.
Carl graduated from Pella High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army in October 1963, and was a clerk with the 65th MP’s in Toulle, France. He was proud to serve our country and was honorably discharged in October 1965. After returning home he worked in the factory for Pella Corp.
On October 12, 1968, he was united in marriage to Karen Musgrove in Pella. To this union they were blessed with two children: Wayne and Natalie.
Carl loved spending time with his grandchildren and celebrating all of the holidays with his family. He loved Tulip Time, was proud of his Dutch heritage and worked at the Historical Village over 30 years. He was a member of the Open Bible Church where he was involved with the Senior Saints, Wednesday night preschool, and many other activities.

He is also survived by his sister Mildred (Robert) Marsh of Villisca, Iowa, his brothers: Harry and the late Julie Van Der Veer of Knoxville, and Bobby Van Der Veer of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Kenneth and (Phyllis) Van Der Veer.
