Clarence William Meinders was born April 7, 1939, to Tim and Della (Van Hulzen) Meinders in Pella, Iowa. He attended the old Rose Hill School by walking on the railroad tracks. He graduated from the Lacey High School.
On May 27, 1958, he was married to Wilma Jean De Graaf in the Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa. They were blessed with five sons: Richard, Ronald, Kenneth, Calvin, and Stanley.
They first lived in an apartment in Oskaloosa. Later they moved to a small acreage north of Pella where they built a house and made a family home.
His first job involved painting Ford tractors for Herchel Carmichael in Oskaloosa. After that Clarence was employed by Pella Rolscreen Company full time for 38 years. After retiring from full time employment, he worked part time for 10 years giving tours and working security at Pella Corporation.
Clarence enjoyed the country life and often went back to his parents to help with farm work. He also enjoyed helping area farmers with whom he became good friends.
