Doris Evans

Doris Darlene Evans was born May 2, 1938, to Fred and Lovina (Barten) Behn, in Green Island, Iowa.

She attended country school in Green Island, Iowa, and graduated with the class of 1955 in Miles, Iowa.

On October 7, 1956, Doris married Ronald Evans in Sabula, Iowa at Calvary Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two children: Douglas and Cheryl. Doris was a receptionist for Northwestern Bell; she was also a Tupperware dealer, Close to My Heart Consultant, and a Tastefully Simple Consultant. She was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Pella, where she participated in a Bible Study with a group of lovely sisters-in-Christ, and she cherished being a member of the church choir.

Doris loved music of all kinds, crafting in the form of hardanger stitching, stamping and scrapbooking, going on walks with family and friends, hosting a gathering, playing her accordion to pass time or for a group to enjoy, and just spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her family, but they rejoice knowing Jesus is her Lord and Savior and will be reunited in Heaven.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Evans in 2020, son Douglas Evans in 2013, parents Fred and Lovina Behn, parents-in-law Cecil and Inez Evans, sister Joretta Sandholdt, and brothers: Wesley Behn and Arnold Behn.
