Jackson Lee Gililland was born April 19, 1934, to William F. and Lucille (Porter) Gililland, in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Jack attended Cloudcroft High School in New Mexico. He was in the U.S. Navy for more than three years and then enlisted into the U.S. Army for another three years. Jack did contract work for the telephone company travelling all over the country, and officially retired in 2016. On December 2, 1953, he was united in marriage to Sheila Carpenter at the First Baptist Church in Alamogordo, during his Naval service.
Jack loved riding his horse Sugar, shooting at the gun range and teaching his family to work. He was honest, generous, a protector and provider for his family. He was also a mentor, who commanded respect. He was extremely witty and had a way with words, he never met a stranger, and always noticed and cared for others.
Jack was currently attending the Church of the Open Bible in Pella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother William T. Gililland.
