C. Janice Savage Bailey was born January 30, 1936, in Lynnville, Iowa. She died in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on August 31, 2022.

Janice graduated from North High School in Des Moines in 1954 and Drake University in 1958 with a  Degree in Elementary Education. She married her high school sweetheart after graduation. He joined the Air Force and the adventure began. She thoroughly enjoyed her life as the wife of an Air Force Officer, involving herself in the Officers’ Wives Club on the various bases where they lived, serving as both Newspaper Editor and President. The Air Force took her to multiple states and Canada, but by far her favorite time of life was the three years at Hahn AB, Germany. She enjoyed her family, visiting relatives, travelling, laughing with friends and drinking coffee. After retirement from the Air Force, she taught Kindergarten and was very involved in the American Business Women’s Association in Tucson, Arizona.

She is survived by four children: John (Josie) Bailey of Merritt Island, Florida; Kent (Michelle) Bailey of Hershey, Pennsylvania; Brenda (Clay) Hicks of Spotsylvania, Virginia; and Richard (Jan) Bailey of Scottsdale, Arizona; and 11 grandchildren: Colleen, Abby, Nate, Cameron, Gabe, Brent, Lindsey (Caleb), Allison, Colin, Justin and Josh.
