Joan Ruth Nossaman was born January 3, 1941, to Myron and Cordelia (Van Zante) Nollen, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She attended country school and was a 1959 graduate of Pella High School.
On August 27, 1959, she was united in marriage to Lee Nossaman. To this union they were blessed with two sons: Richard and David.
Joan was a loving farm wife. She raised hogs, drove tractor and delivered meals. She was the state President of Iowa Porkettes from 1988 – 1989, and a member of Iowa Pork Producers Board. She also enjoyed upholstery and taught upholstery classes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.
Joan was a cook at Second Reformed Church for many different events, large groups, and family night. She cooked at the Tulip Tea Room. Joan and Lee enjoyed camping all over and spent winters in Arizona for nearly 30 years.

Joan is also survived by her sisters: Edith Buwalda of Pella, Carol Reimers of Phoenix, Arizona, Jean Nollen of Nevada, Iowa, and Linda and Mark Woofter of Clive, Iowa.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents Myron and Cordelia Nollen, and her infant sister Mary Lynn Nollen.
