Obituary

Joyce Elaine Rempe was born April 13, 1943, to Lester and Edna (Brummel) Klein, in Leighton, Iowa. Joyce grew up in Mahaska County, and attended Madison Center Grade School, and Lacey and North Mahaska High School.

On January 18, 1963, she was united in marriage to Clarence Rempe in Oskaloosa. To this union, four children were born: Mark, Bruce, Brenda, and Vickie.

Joyce was a secretary for Midwest Sanitation and also worked in the Pella school food service and managed the high school concessions. Joyce liked to crochet and sew, particularly Dutch costumes. She loved gospel music festivals, camping - especially on the north shore of Lake Superior, and most of all family gatherings. In her later years, she and Clarence enjoyed their “front porch fellowship.”

Joyce was a member of Trinity Church, where she served on various committees, and went on work trips to Texas/Mexico.
