Judy Lynne De Vries was born January 8, 1942, to Clarence William and Engelyn “Angie” (Van Ringelestein) Van Steenis on the family farm near Flagler, Iowa. In 1956 her family moved to Pella. Judy was a 1960 graduate of Pella High School.
Judy met Rodney De Vries at Marion County Bank where she was his favorite teller. They were united in marriage in 1976, at the Third Reformed Church in Pella. To this union they were blessed with two sons: Kevin and Ryan.
Judy worked for the Holland House, Klein Law and was a bank teller for Marion County Bank for over 50 years. She was also a book-keeper for Harry Vermeer.
Judy was friendly, outgoing and loved to volunteer for the church and many organizations. She was the treasurer for Marion County American Cancer Society. She enjoyed baking and canning, and made tasty jams and jellies. Judy especially loved flowers and she was the caretaker for the church flowers.
She is survived by her husband Rod, her sons: Kevin R. De Vries of Cedar Rapids, and Ryan K. De Vries of Altoona; her siblings: Marsha (Harold) Jackson of Ankeny, Carleton (Mary) Van Steenis of Pella, Terry (Nancy) Van Steenis of Monroe and many nieces and nephews.
