Kathy Vitullo

Kathy Denise Vitullo was born June 2, 1953, to Darwin and Dorothy (Parker) Samuelson, in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away on July 27, 2021, at the Comfort House in Pella.

Kathy graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, and attended Central College majoring in elementary education.

On September 8, 1979, she was united in marriage to Dante “Danny” Vitullo, Jr., in Urbandale, Iowa. The family lived in various locations in the United States – Arizona, Nevada, Southern California, and New Hampshire before settling in Pella.

Kathy was a caretaker! She was deeply devoted to people and knew no strangers. She had a loving, giving heart and saw the best in everyone. Kathy enjoyed following family sporting events, shopping and people watching.

Kathy is also survived by her mother Dorothy Samuelson, her sister Kris Van Wyk, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and her beloved dog Teddie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Danny Vitullo, her father Darwin Samuelson, her grandchildren: Luke and Lydia Hamler, and her brother-in-law Ed Van Wyk.
