Robert Wolf

Robert Wolf had a wonderful life and was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Born to Paul and Pat (Schumacher) Wolf, he was the youngest sibling to his two older brothers Nathan and Jason. Growing up in Urbandale, Iowa and Pella, Iowa, he was surrounded by friends, where there was never a dull moment. His days were full of playing baseball, basketball, soccer, fishing, swimming, shooting pool, jumping off the cliffs at Red Rock Lake and, of course, getting into mischief. Robert enjoyed the outdoors, no matter the season. In high school Robert was a wrestler and a football player. Robert was a very proud father of three children who meant everything to him. His world revolved around them and his love of good food. His children brought him so much joy as they have and continue to grow up. Some of his favorite memories were introducing them to the things he loved...playing card games, fishing, watching the Hallmark Channel, cooking, grilling, and eating. He loved the Green Bay Packers!

Robert was an active member of the Pella Lodge #55 Masons. Robert served as the local Pheasants Forever Chapter President for the last 5 years, providing significant leadership to the Chapters yearly youth hunt program. One of Robert’s greatest accomplishments is the accumulation of an extremely large group of the wisest, funniest, kind, creative, talented, sharing, caring and all around-fantastic people, called his friends. Robert ‘Wolfy” was a friend to everyone, listening without judgment, giving great hugs and offering advice. Friends knew when he answered his phone ‘How is the prettiest girl in Pella doing?’, he was talking with his mom. Robert talked often about his mom’s home cooked meals and his lunches with his Dad and the time spent with his kids. Robert’s advice to others was to surround yourself with great people, and your life, like his, will be tremendously blessed.

Robert Gregory Wolf, born April 1, 1974, died peacefully on January 20, 2022, at the age of 47 after a battle with lung cancer, under the prayerful support and watch of his family, one of his closest friends Todd and the dedicated team at Mayo Clinic. He was at peace and in no pain.

He will be deeply missed by his son Hunter; granddaughter Allison; daughter Ava and son Ryker, and former wife Julie. Also deeply missing him are his parents Paul and Pat (Schumacher) Wolf, siblings Nathan; Jason and wife Sara and their children Evan, Olivia, Matthew and wife Amber, Patrick and wife Liz; and Aaron. Robert is survived by his Godparents Marie and Bob Schumacher along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents Gregory and Elizabeth Schumacher and Robert and Pearl Wolf.
