Stan Harms Obituary

Stanley Evan Harms was born February 5, 1948, to Victor and Lenora (Jantz) Harms, in Newton, Kansas.  He grew up on a farm in Kansas and was a 1966 graduate of Goessel High School.

After moving to Pella, Stan owned and operated Stan’s Drywall since 1969. Stan loved Pella and was an avid Pella Dutch sports fan. He loved John Deere tractors, old cars, antiques, and tinkering on things. His friends were everything to him! He loved meeting up with friends  for breakfast. He was a “regular” at In’t Velds and was friends with the entire crew. He also loved Ford trucks and had four of them. His favorite Christmas tradition was peppernuts and vanilla ice cream. Stan was a member of the Third Church in Pella.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children and grandchildren:

Jarrod Harms and Kirk Bell

Nick and Allison Harms

          Travis Harms

          Ben Macmaster

          Abel Harms

Angela and Shane Salmela

          Blair Salmela

          Mack Salmela

He is also survived by his siblings: Shirlene Friesen, Nancy and David Smiley, and Ken and Judy Harms; and many close friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Lenora Harms and his brother Dennis Harms.
