Stella Jacoba Meulpolder was born December 10, 1922, to Benjamin and Marie (Schep) Rozendaal, on the family farm north of Sully.
Stella attended country school through eighth grade in Jasper County. She later moved to Denver, Colorado, for five years where she attended business college for two years and worked for the Overall Factory there. When she moved back to Pella, she started working for Menninga Insurance. On August 12, 1965, she was united in marriage to Lane Meulpolder in Pella. Later, she worked for Hilltop, Rolscreen (now known as Pella Corp.), and was a volunteer for senior meals. Stella and Lane were custodians for the Third Reformed Church for many years. She was a member of Heartland Reformed Church and the Dorcas Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidery and crochet. She played the piano and organ for local churches, the nursing home, and for bible study groups. She also enjoyed reading Christian novels, playing games and visiting with others.
Stella is survived by her step-daughter Mary Lou Ellis of Knoxville, five step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lane, her parents Ben and Marie Rozendaal, her parents-in-law Pieter and Adrianna Meulpolder, her sisters: Elizabeth (Doris) Franje, Bertha (Lawrence) Bogaards, Pauline (Harold) Mathes, Pearl (Charlie) Riemersma and her brother Jake (Bertha) Rozendaal.
