Steven W. Hollebrands

April 16, 1946 ~ March 21, 2022 (age 75)

Steven Wesley Hollebrands was born on April 16, 1946, to Elvon and Cora (Jansz) Hollebrands in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He graduated from the Pella High School with the class of 1964. He then attended DMACC for his HVAC certification.

Steve met Marva Jean Vander Weide in high school, and they were united in marriage on June 24, 1965. They were blessed with three children: Mike, Sarah, and Abby.

Steve worked for most of his career with the Southern California Edison Company. While there, he spent time as a Groundman, Bookie, and he finished his tenure in mapping. In 2001, Steve retired after 32 years there. After his retirement, he worked as a subcontractor for Par Electric.

In his free time, Steve enjoyed buying and even building classic cars with his son, Mike, and his friends. He was a founding member of the car club “Back Street Rods” in Ojai, California. While in Ojai, Steve worked as a Reserve Police Officer. He and Marva enjoyed many vacations together camping, boating, and cruising to the Caribbean, Alaska, and Canada. Steve liked to watch his daughter, Sarah, work with and show horses. His special times with his daughter, Abby, were spent watching television and snuggling together. Steve was a member of the First Reformed Church of Pella, where he was active in a Men’s Bible study with some of his close friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Beth Eisenberg, and his parents Elvon and Cora Hollebrands.

Steve is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marva; his son Mike and Desiree Hollebrands and his grandchildren Emily and Hannah; his daughter Sarah and Dave Talma; and his daughter Abby Holllebrands. He is also survived by his sister, Diane and Jim Conely.
