Violet Riffle Obituary

Violet G. (Conrad) Riffle, 95, of Pella, Iowa, passed away August 13, 2021, at home from colon cancer. Violet was born January 29, 1926, to Harold and Cora (Shuler) Conrad in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

On July 17, 1945, she was united in marriage to Warren Dale Riffle from Ashtabula, Ohio. They later moved to Ohio and raised their three daughters: Barbara, Carol and Bonnie. Violet was a homemaker when not working in the Dave George Green House. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. When Dale passed, Violet moved to Pella and enjoyed her life there.

Violet is survived by her daughters and their families: Barbara Williams of Pella, Iowa, and Bonnie (Riffle) Messinger of Ashtabula, Ohio; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Winnie (Conrad) Deardorff of Claymont, Delaware, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, father and mother Harold and Cora Conrad, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Goldie Riffle, daughter Carol Carroll, grand daughter Cynthia Carroll, son-in-law Ray Williams, and grandson Ray Williams II, son-in-law Ray Messinger, and granddaughter Candy Messinger; brothers: Harold Conrad Jr., Carl Conrad, and Robert Conrad; sisters: Gladys DeFrank, Margaret Aston, and Mary Sukey.

A celebration of her life will be held in Ashtabula, Ohio, on August 28, 2021, at Zaback -Williams- Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio. Visitation 10:00 -11:00 am, funeral service 11:00 am,  followed by lunch. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Pella.
